Well, I finally delivered my truck to my paint guy. He's going to sandblast the cab, install new rockers and cab supports and paint it Red and white and also spray a red bedliner in, i'll get pics as soon as he makes some progress.

Re: Gene's shorty 4x4 conversion

Well, camera crapped out on me, but my body man is just now wrapping up my cab getting ready for paint. Had to also replace both cab corners and he remove rust on kick panels. It sure has seemed like a long time since I delivered it to him, but I want it right when it's done, he's rhino lining the whole bottom of cab and bed and inner fenders so I cant wait to get her back!

Yep, i've been back and forth on what color combo to go with and finally decided with the red/white, definitely going to stay with the 2 tone if I ever get my truck back from the shop that is!

I'll PM him your name, note: he installed a pre made cover that I bought from Kenny's Trucks in Mounds, OK. But he did one hell of a job on th eold salvage yard seat I gave him. He rebuilt the padding and even painted and put the stock appearing burlap rear cover on.

My body guy is almost finished with my cab now, he just has to undercoat under cab and I can pick it up. Torch Red and GM white turned out very nice, he even installed a cargo light for me. Will post pics if I can get em off my phone!

Nice! Did the factory wrap the white around the back of the cab on that body style?

I didn't think so, but I really like the way that looks. You've got me thinking about doing it that way on my truck now.

Yeah, he wasnt sure how far it wrapped, and he said he already had it all taped off so he went ahead and sprayed it all white, he said he'd tape off and spray the middle red if I wanted, but I said no, kinda like it!

BTW ... You're gonna love those tires. I've had 'em on 4 4wds and wouldn't have anything else. If they look a just little low on air pressure, they probably have 2-3 lbs in them

Gene,

Great looking truck... Where did you get the Transfer Case boot retaining ring? I have been looking for one and cannot seem to find it..

I love it! Excellent choice with the colors! Where did you buy the brake lines from? That is a good FYI about the '71/'72 difference in length. I didn't know that.
