1) how low can you go from stock height on 1 72 longbed c10 before you hit bump stops or more work is needed and how low with shorter stops?

20 has anyone tried to cut the plastic peice in the gages that says fuel and all that? Im looking to cut the middle out to drop a aftermarket tach in.

I'v done it to a few just for the same reason. You need to be carefull because the plastic is very brittle and a crack will easely ruin your entire plate, it will get close to the edge in a few spots.. Besure you have a spare in case you need it. I'v used a hole saw and a die grinder. They came out very nice and look good with the right tach.

BE CAREFULL, find an old beatup one to practice on.

Thats what i was thinking i have a old faded one im going to use first just wondered if its possible do u think a way of cooling why you do it would help or no?

Good idea thinking about cooling it, it might help. That was one of the problems.. the heat tries to melt the plastic back together as you cut.

I know it sounds like over kill but im going to take it to my friend who has a machine shop some of his stuff sprays coolant as it cuts. I was just trying to find out if it is possible thanks for the response.
