71'-72' Master on 67'-68' booster ?
Will a 71'/72' disc brake master cylinder and proportioning valve mount and work properly in place of a 67' drum brake master and distribution block ? I have the disc master and the drum brake booster is on the truck . I am wanting to keep the factory booster .

Re: 71'-72' Master on 67'-68' booster ?
Are you changing the front to Disk? If so, it should work just fine. Some one chime in if I am in left field...The only difference I know is that the brake lines run different on the frame rails between those years and may need massaging to get to the Dis Block.
If your not running disks dont change it. Smitty Smitty

Re: 71'-72' Master on 67'-68' booster ?
The catalog shows two different part numbers for the boosters, maybe because of size, but there is a difference for some reason, I am not an engineer so I would say after finding out about the different sizes of boosters to call MP Brakes or a company that specializes in brakes to see if its safe. Thats the key, make sure its safe.
The way I read your post was that you were changing the whole system not splitting it(my fault). Why not just put a complete 72 setup on the 67? Smitty

Re: 71'-72' Master on 67'-68' booster ?
If I was you I would forget that 67 booster and install a new or rebuilt 72 booster. Don't take a chance on safety with some old raggedy 67 booster. JMHO.

Re: 71'-72' Master on 67'-68' booster ?
Well the master cylinder will be new , but either booster will be used . It is my understanding that even if the booster fails i will still have manual brakes .

Re: 71'-72' Master on 67'-68' booster ?
Hey Hotrod 80
The master cylinder and p- valve will work fine on the booster. Two different companies made the boosters. Bendix and Moraine ?? I think. I have used them on both through the years.
