Front bumper bent
I was recently backing out of the garage and had to make a slight turn to back around my other vehicle behind me... I know probably not the smartest idea. Well, as I was doing this the corner of my bumper caught the side of the garage and bent my bumper forward. It's not much, but enough that it won't return back in place so I can reattach it to its brace. Does anyone know of any way to bend it back in place? It's not kinked or anything where it bent. Not sure if this was something I could do at home, take to a body shop, or if it's even possible. Any tips would be helpful. I really appreciate it. Feel free to take any stabs at my intelligence level. haha. Thanks anyone who can help out.

Pics help. I have straightened some by gently with a spotter pushing it back with a firm object and pushing into it with the truck. Also by tow strap and come along to rear bumper or solid object to the rear

Alright. I took it off the truck. I will try to get some pictures of it tomorrow sometime. The towstrap idea sounds like it might work. I didn't really have anything that I could find that I could use to brace against it to pull back on it. I will try to tow strap tomorrow too. I appreciate that tip

Heard of folks using a tree and pushing against it too while installed on one side. Should find a good sturdy one in Georgia.

Ha, I did the same thing to my 68 about a year ago. Still haven't fixed it, thinking about a different bumper maybe for a winch

So, I've tried the towstrap idea and no luck. I noticed that while I was pulling it back though, that a kink started to appear. It's looking like I'm just gonna have to buy a new one. Oh well, I guess it's just part of the process when you're restoring one of these trucks. Thanks for all the ideas fellas I really appreciate it.

I was wondering about the kink metal really doesn't like being stretched best way to straighten usually involves heat. Sorry it didn't work

You think if I took it to a body shop then they might be able to straighten it out? Or is it probably too late since it's starting to kink on me?

Yes. Take it to a body shop. If it's not a bent real bad, they may be able to easily straighten it out but I would ask what it would cost first since it may be just as much as a new one.
