Re: lowered 50 chev question

you can buy shorter coils or cut some off of your current set

Re: lowered 50 chev question

I cut down my stock coils. I ended up taking one full coil out with stock spindles. If you take out a quarter wrap at a time and check it, you can always pull them out and take some more out.

Re: lowered 50 chev question

Mine with mustang 2 front with 2 in drop spindles and 1.5 coils cut it was a little to low so I bought new springs and only cut 3/4 coils off.

Re: lowered 50 chev question

I just put a M2 front end in mine with 2" drop spindles and only have 5" ground clearance on the front of my running boards. I wouldn't recommend running any frame or suspension parts under what your height is with your tires flat. Years ago a guy in the town I was living in had a nice 70's show truck that had about 3" ground clearance. He blew a front tire on the highway, buried the A arm in the pavement and endowed the truck. It destroyed the truck and nearly killed him. Just something to think about.
