Disc brake kit for 1969 K20 4x4 advice

Can someone recommend a kit, or the best way to make the change on my 4x4? Most of the threads that I can find deal with 2wd vehicles. Looking on going front and hind. Thank you in advance for your help.

There isn't a front disk brake kit for the old closed knuckle front ends that I know of. Your best bet is to find a front end out of a 1971 to 87 truck. Those have disk brakes from the factory. WES

Well that sounds like a good reason for not being able to find info. Thank you for taking the time to point that out.

As much as I like the 457 gears (not), if I do decide to change front and rear axles at some point...what would be the best kind to go to? I think I would like to go to 373 gears. Also, what challenges will I likely encounter?

73-84ish pickup/blazer/suburban will have a Dana 44 front. After that they moved to a 10 bolt front. If you want to go 8 lug, find a 2500 series truck or suburban. The front axles will all bolt right in... depending on the donor vehicle, the rear axle may have the spring perches in the wrong location. They are easy to replace for $40 or less.

The gear ratio that you choose must be chosen while considering how tall of a tire you are going to run. You are asking the right questions. This site and the internet are rich with the information that you need. Generally, shorter tires = less gear, taller tires = more gear.
