TC adapters

I have a TH400 from an 88 GMC k30/3500 that had a NP 205 with the round pattern.

Will an NP241 bolt onto this adapter? I dont know enough about the 241 yet to know.

Thanks

Re: TC adapters

Not exactly. It will bolt up but not correctly. You will need the th400 np208 adapter. Np208 and 241 share the same adapter pattern. There is short and long version. 1985 and newer is the short and is the same mount as the 88 you have. 1984 and older uses the tall adapter.

This adapter is most commonly found from a cucv.

Re: TC adapters

Thanks for the info, what would be the issue with it not bolting on correctly? Are some of the bolt holes not going to line up properly? Or will the output shaft on the 400 be too long/the input on the 241 too long?

Re: TC adapters

It's not for me, People keep asking me this and I don't know the answer. I am trying to get rid of the transmission.

I have an NV4500 with the 205 that was on the 400 for my truck

Re: TC adapters

The adapter depth is more shallow on the 241

Re: TC adapters

Thanks obijuan, the guy brought his 241 with him and we saw the depth was way off, also there is a cut out in the adapter on the TC side and would probably puke trans fluid out if you were to have more spline engagement.

Any idea what this TH400 to round 205 adapter is worth? I will want to try to sell it.

Re: TC adapters

Ebay seems to pull the most money but it's hit or miss. I'd feel good for 100 shipped in my area. Central texas.
