solid motor mounts
I'm putting a BBC in my 66 short bed andwant to use solid mounts.I know i can get the mpunts for the engine,but cant find the brackets for the frame...

Unless this is a drag race only setup i would not do it. The frames on these trucks have to much flex and something will break. When I put the 396 in the 64 I had we had to make the frame mounts. Since these trucks never came with a big block there are no factory stands.

Thanks jimmy.i know i have my work cut out.i have a couple friends who run S/G and who are excellent fabricators.the engine came out of a dragster and is putting out right around 900.yes it will see 99% strip but will be taged for the street to.

I have some solid motor mounts of the '73+ style that I made. You would just need the frame brackets from a '73-'86 C20/30 or a '87-'91 R2500/3500.

with that much power he can afford to stiffen up the frame........ Could even put a plate on each side and make the bed n box one unit.

With that much power it will need a full cage to get down the track. If track only a motor plate and a mid plate would be much better and get the load off the trans. Then if you run a trans mount with the plates use a soft stock mount. Use a plate where the stock mount went to put your engine limiters.
