finally got the cab and bed back on

Took some time, but got the cab cut in and back on the frame...bed too. The doors, fenders, hood are cut in too...just need to hang them and shoot the final coat. Can see light at the end of tunnel....maybe by New Years it'll be done.

Re: finally got the cab and bed back on

Thanks for the kind words guys. Basic big-block build up: scat crank, speed pro pistons 8.5:1 or there abouts, stock rods, COMP roller cam/lifters...torque cam, 781 heads...bowl blended...unshrouded exhaust valve...stock valve sizes...COMP springs, polished Edelbrock Performer, DUI ignition, Sean Murphy 800cfm quadrajet...ceramic coated '66 Chevelle exhausts manifolds (had to notch the frame to make them fit, but I really wanted to run them, lol) ... probably around 375hp and 525 lb/ft....should pull pretty good

Re: finally got the cab and bed back on

That sounds perfect. Why the 3 different colors on the drivetrain though?

Re: finally got the cab and bed back on

trying for a semi-factory look...when the 4l80 came back from my tranny guy, he had painted it that grey color...should be more of an aluminum, oh well. I tried to find a a reddish color to match the factory nP205 color, but it should be more of a rust color I think...at this point, I'm not repainting it

Re: finally got the cab and bed back on

I hear ya. It looks good!

I'm probably going to build pretty much the same engine for mine. Is that the factory 402?

Re: finally got the cab and bed back on

No, it's a .060 over 454...468 now. The truck had a 1990 model 454 in when I bought it...I pulled that one and sold it to a buddy...the 454 in it now came out of a '72 El Camino I parted out years ago. As far as I can tell, they never made any factory big-block 67-72 4x4's, so someone added that 454 it had in it when I bought it.
