A little body shop progress

Here are a couple pics of the progress at the body shop. I'm supposed to stop by tonight and the body guy said a lot of work would be done on the cab by then. I'll cross my fingers.

Anyway, the passenger fender had a dent in the upper front corner and both fenders had some old repairs. I removed most of the filler and he has smoothed the fenders out nicely.

Where are your C/20 badges going? You're not deleting them are you?

I see you left the holes for the "454" badges though

Nope, the badges will go back, he just hasn't cleaned the holes out yet. And no, I'm not using 454 badges, those are the holes for the 4 Wheel Drive emblems. The 454 is gonna be incognito.

The body guy says he will stick to the schedule, but I will be amazed if he can have it done as scheduled - just seems to be a lot that he has to still do.

I sure hope you took a lot of pics and labeled everything before you took it apart...lol. I can't tell you how many times I forget how something goes back together. Luckily I have a couple of other K20s to look at.

Looking good so far! It will be much more fun going back together when that paint is done.

Gas tank will be here

Used one of ebfabman's filler pieces for the gas tank hole.

They said they would be using an etch primer - not sure if that answers your question.

Clean metal is a beautiful thing.

Dean - I wish I did a better job on labeling stuff as I have a bad case of CRS!

The color will be a very light metallic silver.

Yesterday there was some great progress. Body guy has the passenger door hardware removed, and he has done a lot of work on the back of the cab. Being a farm truck, there were lots of problems on the back of the cab to clean up. Using a mig welder, the body guy used a stud puller to remove the dents.

He has the fenders in primer now and has some more block sanding to do to them.

Still a lot to get done, but progressing very well this week!
