Question 67 panel

G'day guys,
I've got a 67 Panel Truck that I use for my work truck. The RHS barn door on the back has only got a latch on the top, the bottom one has been missing since I have owned it. It looks like it is probably the same thing as the top one, just with a different operating rod. I can make the rod, but would like to buy the mechanism. I expect the Suburban is the same and the same design is probably used on lots of other years trucks as well. i will post a picture of the truck when I figure out how.

Panels in Australia-I love it

Welcome from Northern Utah.

I think, due to the Panels being work trucks, most people get tired of not being able to slide stuff in and out without having to lift it up over that latch, since it sticks up just a little bit. Mine's gone too, and I think the PO (previous owner) got tired of it when he had a cutting torch in his hand.

Check out the sub-forum

There's a thread there with hundreds of pictures of Panels

Re: 67 panel

Yeah, this truck has had a hard life too. If I had known how rusty it was when i first saw it I would have left it there.
Anyway, the bit I'm talking about is the little mechanism in the door itself, the bit on the floor (the striker?) is still there with nothing to hook onto it.

Thanks for the link, it's interesting to see what others do.

Re: 67 panel

Hey Thank You. That would be great, but I don't want you to make a special trip.
If you do go, the bit I'm looking for is the little catch mechanism that sort of works like "rolling fingers" and is released by the door handle. I can take a picture of the top one if you think it would help.

I am not in this in any way, but this is what this forum is about . People helping people, complete strangers with only a truck in common. Renews my love for poeple this morning and may change my day.
