Can't find thread about adding 10' of wire on full gauge conversion

I'm swapping around harness connections going from idiot lights to full gauge setup. I know there is a post here about adding 10' of wire for something and then the connection to 12R wiring at the alternator. Anyone remember it?
I only have to clarify the #1 and #12 dash connector connections/additions and I can put this stuff in! Thanks all.

PS - been to gmcpauls, etc. just need a little more clarification about adding two more 12v wires to the cluster.

Re: Can't find thread about adding 10' of wire on full gauge conversion

I was looking for this in the electrical section awhile back and didn't have a lot of luck. What I found is the stock ammeter uses the heavy wire as a shunt (whatever that is) to make it read correctly. My gage would always read discharge unless you turn on some acc. Everyone told me to replace the ammeter with a volt gage. I know its not much help but that's all I could find
