Early SM465 into Late square body

I have an 465/205 combo from a 71 I want to install into my 86 K5. I have collected what i consider all the parts. I notice the hydro clutch bell housing bolts to the tranny slightly different than the 71 manual bell housing. On the new hydro bell housing the bell housing has 4 threaded holes, on the early manual housing 2 holes are threaded and 2 holes on the 465 are threaded. Which ones should I drill out to make this work? I can get some pics later today/evening. Thanks,

Jim

You will have to drill out the lower bolt holes and then grind the casting flat so the head of the bolt will sit flat and so you can turn the head of the bolt with either a socket or wrench

You do mean drill out the lower aluminum bell housing holes and bolt to the tranny?

I am just starting this same project. Hadn't even thought to check the bell housing to trans Thanks for the info.

JIM, I'm doing a late 70's 465/205 into an '85 Crew; if you have any trouble finding any parts or come across any issues that I should probably know before I start, let me know. I ordered all the necessities yesterday.
