Exclamation 53 gmc on s10 frame

I searched and searched couldnt find a clear answer, i have 53 gmc short bed i found 89 s10 single cab long bed, im wondering if i have to relocated the rear axle on leaf springs? ez chassis swap says yes and they include the plate to relocate it, but ad-engineering says no you dont need to the trucks rear wheels are too far forward from factory so the s10 frame works perfect. Just wondering what clear answer is? im looking at air ride kits made for s10 but i dont think they would work without modification if i had to relocate the axle 2 inches forward to relocate the wheel base

In short, No. Your 53 is a short bed and the S10 is a long bed no axle shift needed. Now if your GMC was a long bed and the S10 was an extended cab you would need to shift the axle rearward 3".

Everything I have read says no axle relocation. The S10 long bed should be 116" wheelbase, the same as the '53.

Yep a 53 short bed and an 89 s10 regular cab long bed will work great. Im doing one now.
