longhorn

anybody know what axle and gear ratio is in the longhorn pickup? looks like a dana 60 from a glance.

there is mine, not sure what gears are in it, but at 70 mph im running 3100 or so rpm... 373?

Dave, yours should be a 4.10.
hou72che, we need to know what engine and tranny it came with originally, and if the rear looks like the one above.

big block longhorn. does not have that rearend. isnt that a corperate? pretty sure its an automatic? just glanced under it really quik. have had the truck for years but never touched it

if it is a 3/4 ton, then it should be a dana (you are right about the photo, that's the Eaton HO52, or corperate rear) and the gearing should be a 3.54 id a big block and automatic.
If it's a one ton, then 4.10, but I don't think the dana was offered in the one tons.

Dave's is a 3/4 ton, why doesn't his have the Dana?

the orig. engine was the 350...usually see the 3.54 geared dana 60's behind big blocks.

3.54 was pretty much a big block only gear. you could get the dana, but the Eaton is the base model, or standard rear end.
