when god blesses you with simple fixes

pulled the truck into the driveway this morning to unload it left it running in nutreal with the park brake on when i got back in the truck i went to push the clutch in bam right to the floor nothing by this time i'm getting worried omg my 3 month old cluthc has gone out. seeing i had to pick someone up i turned the truck off and took my van. got home and got to looking we it turns out that the cotter key that holds the clutch rod to the pedel broke and the rod had come undone. installed a new key and boom fixed. i thank god everyday when something messes up and it is a simple fix.

Re: when god blesses you with simple fixes

Dude the same thing happened to me on my way to the Nats last year. I was on an on ramp about to get back on the interstate just south of Knoxville. There was NO room on the side of the ramp and traffic was flying by us. I dug around and found a zip tie and ran it through the cotter pin hole. Every time after I changed gears I would reach under the dash and push the rod back on the pedal ( I was afraid the Nylon tie wouldn't hold). I made it in to Sevierville and stopped at Lowes and bought a pack of cotter pins. It was a simple fix but I would rather not have to do it on the side of the interstate while taking a vacation again.
