Gas tank removal
When I try to get the tank out, is there any easy way to get the filler neck to come through the cab without tearing the surrounding gasket all to crap? Thanks for any help!

generaly they are dry rotted so hard. If you can soften the gasket it will come out without messing it up. If it is good and dry pretty much all you can do it cut and get a new one.

You can spray the rubber down with PB Blaster... or WD40 if that's all you got.... even water will help (maybe more than the WD40 would). As you pull it back towards the passengers side, tilt the tank up. It should come out with minimal fussin and cussin.

I cut mine. Brand new gasket too. I tried like hell and couldn't get it to come through...

I just had to take mine out today. Had to cut it out. There still available at the dealers. Not that expensive......

Liquid dishwashing soap works well as a real slippery lube for rubber parts IF they are not too dried out.
