It figures as soon as I get the truck just about together enough that I can start it up the blasted battery dies. So tomorrow I get to go buy a new one. Anyone have any suggestions on a good battery?

Thanks

if you dont want to spend the money for the optima, go to your nearest CarQuest store.

Re: Battery died

just go to walmart, their batteries are either Exide or Johnson Controls batteries!

Easy to exchange if you've got problems.

Re: Battery died

When I was working at the shop we sold Interstate batteries & always had good luck with them. After I quit, I got walmart batteries & have never had one give trouble. Pretty sure theres only a few factories making them all anyway...

Re: Battery died

Well it wasnt just the battery it was the ground wire to. Must have had a short in it. Had the old battery tested and it passed on the first test but failed on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. I didnt pick up a optima but opted for a advantage. Its working

Re: Battery died

interstate batteries are made by Johnson controlls which are the same batteries that are north of the mason dixion line in Walmarts.

Easy way to figure out which are which at walmart are the S and the N at the end of the part number.

the S is the "Southern" batteries and N is "northern"
the S has less Cold Cranking Amps

The S are Johnson Control batteries
and the N are Exide

Most (about 90%) are made by these companies.
Go figure!
