Has any one out there found a replacement for the 69 c30 split ring wheels? 8 lugs with 1/2" wheel studs . I have a set of 17 1/2" , but i am looking to run 16". Thanks for your thoughts.

Welcome to the board xam.
Pretty much any 16 inch 8 lug rim will bolt on.
Try to avoid the 16.5 as the tires are very expensive and a smaller selection compaired to the 16 inch.
Be sure to throw away the old dangerous junk rims away....far far away.

New style 1971 and up you Know late model stuff, all have 9/16" wheel studs the 1970 and earlier have 1/2 " . not a huge problem with standard style acorn nuts on the front ,but lots of slop on the dual rear wheels. Thanks for the welcome.

You ARE right, and I should have mentioned that.
I have run the 9/16 rims on 1/2 inch studs with no problem...but never a daulie though.

The lugs on my 71 and 72 C30's are flat, not acorn/tapered. Is that something that changed for 71+?

I think your safest bet is to press out your current studs and drill for 1/2". Then get the 16" rims that fit correctly on the hubs since the C30's are hub centric.

I also have flat lugs on my c-30. Can I just press out theoem 1/2 " studs , drill to the correct size and press in 9/16 " studs ?? Sounds correct but I have never tried it.

I took out all of the 1/2" lug studs on my black68 1ton dually and redrilled them for 9/16" lugs. I had to get longer studs to put alcoa aluminum wheels on it. The front ones are easy, the rear drums are more of a challenge. Good luck, Joe

I had trouble finding those flat dually nuts for 71-72 but now I have ten extras...NOS in NOS Box.. will see for what they cost me. Rod They look liike this one... but this pic is of the used ones I took off so people knew what I was looking for back when I posted for them.
