My 72 Sub finished...for now!!!!

Well I have had this for about a month and have put abut 60 man-hours into cleaning, tune-up, carb rebuild, new exhaust, new radiator, mirrors, bulbs, clear marker lights, new tint job, etc. Then I added the 20"x9 Boss 301 wheels with 275/45 up front and 275/55 in the rear!

Just installed the CPP 3"/4" drop spring kit with the adjustable trac bar, front re-enforcing shock brackets, rear shock relocation brackets, and drop shocks all around. I can tell you that it is a great kit and I had NO issues what so ever! I ordered from Jeff and he explained everything. I love the stance..the hot rod rake looks cool I think. It rides great and I had no issues getting it aligned at Firestone. I even bought their Lifetime alignment just in case I needed it in the future. It will pay for it's self with just one more alignment. I didn't think $179 was bad for that little extra insurance, especially driving a lowered big truck.

I have the billet grille on order and will order the clear bumper turn lens next week. I believe I will just ride and enjoy this one for a while. I get compliments every time I go some where. No one has ever seen a 3 door Suburban around here. I love the truck. Came with a early 2000 350 crate motor with serpentine front set up and 700R4 trans. The thing runs great...NOW!

Well I just wanted to post up some before and after pics. Let me know what you think.

Re: My 72 Sub finished...for now!!!!

Looks great!
It reminds me alot of my own...

If it's the chrome steel outer/billet insert grill you're ordering, mine didn't fit very well...I'm hoping to come across a nice factory outer, to put the billet insert into

Re: My 72 Sub finished...for now!!!!

I installed the billet grille this past sat. Took about 2 hours to "custom" fit it but it turned out awesome. Also added the clear front bumper turn lenses and replaced the tail lights and reverse lenses. It is really coming together. I ordered new handles the other day. I will try and post pics tomorrow.

Re: My 72 Sub finished...for now!!!!

I remember seeing this sub for sale on Craiglist a little while back. I had to talk myself out of not getting it ...good deal. Glad somebody got it & taking care of it. The mods you've done look great!

Great looking Burb! color combo & stance are spot on, are you able to provide some interior shots? was curious if you are running the original bench seat(s).

Looking good man! How does it ride with coils all around? I am going to use bags on the rear of my 70 Burb so I can still haul or tow...

Did you get the the full grille (chrome outer/billet insert)? What kind of massaging did you have to do?
Looking forward to seeing pics of it installed on the truck!

Re: My 72 Sub finished...for now!!!!

I bought the billet insert off EBay. Replaces the entire middle section. Rides great on the lowered coil springs. I am running 1st and 2nd bench seats. No third seat. I wanted the back open so it worked out.

Yes it is the original color. It was painted 12 years ago. I just did some hard core high speed buffing and waxing. It came out pretty good.
