front spring lift ?
i am adding about a 6" spring lift to my 1 ton blazer project. i need to do it as low budget as i can. im making custom spring hangers for the rear, and the front if necessary. i have the 14 bolt rear and the corporate 10 bolt with the big tubes for the front. my blazer is a 1972 loaded cst. i have the rear lift handled. my question is, what vehicles in the junkyard might have thin spongy springs with enough arch to give me the lift i want in the front? any suggestions will be appreciated.

A 1 ton blazer?? I need to see pics of that. Is is a blazer tub on a 1T frame?

Lots of 1ton rigs here, basically a 1/2 ton Blazer frame with 8lug Heavy duty
axles under it, we call em 1tons, but that may not be what you would call it. I understand your budget, but personally I would not use JY springs at all

If your going to build new mounts, I've heard of using rear springs up front.

my friend has a 1961 scout, he welded new spring mounts farther to the rear of his frame. he used toyota or nissan springs, im not sure exactly. he got a much better ride and more wheel travel. with new spring mounts up front i suppose i have several spring options. as long as i am close i can adjust.

Is is a blazer tub on a 1T frame?" yeah i have a 8 lug 14bolt rear, and a 10 bolt front from a late 70's 3/4 ton 4x4. i dont want blocks in the front, i have access to any size structural steel shapes i need so i guess ill work it out somehow. the lift issue has held me up for more than a year now. ill start posting pics when i start cutting the old hangers off.

Let`s get technical here and add a third choice.Why isn`t your Blazer a 3/4t?
 I can`t wait to see how you do these springs.It`s always cool to find new ways to make it better.
