Re: here's what i have been up to

got my update today.......blazer will be done monday afternoon.......just as i feared the price of the bill will kill the completion of the 4wd project.......they found the comp, the esc, and the dizzy bad.....this explains why i was having that wierd sparking problem.....any way i had them do the alignment (it needed new lower ball joints), and fix the a/c while they had it (this is the most expensive part of the bill).......then i still gotaa get it to the exhaust shop.....be looking for the 4wd project hitting the parts board soon....i will try to sell it complete first

Sorry to hear it's taken an expensive turn for the worse. Your going to appreciate that a/c working though. Keep us posted when you get it from the shop....

Re: here's what i have been up to

i drove the blazer today, not far, just from the repair shop to the exhaust shop.............but i was grinning ear to ear!......maybe the open headers had something to do with it.

Re: here's what i have been up to

i got a guy willing to trade a paint job on the blazer for what is left of the 4wd project... he will do all body work(its not much), and painting, plus pay for half of the supplies.....what do you think?

I thought that you needed to drive it as soon as possible so you could tear down your current driver?? Do I have this thread confused with another one? If you can part with it for a while and this guy knows what he is doing, I would say go for it.

Go for it I say! Before he takes it, can we get those pics? Then we can have a reference when it comes back from paint.

First off congrats on getting the Blazer on the road. I have to say I admire your persistance. If you can get your buddy to paint it, I say go for it. Just get the paint job before you give him the parts truck....

Re: here's what i have been up to

he called me this morning.....said he couldn't wait to get to work on it....he went out and started sanding it last night...his only request with the parts truck was that i assemble it, just to ensure i still had all the hardware...personally i think its just to reassure he's getting a complete truck, but whatever....i'm just so happy....this is my first build that i ever managed to keep around long enough to make it to paint (i have always sold them while they were still in primer)

Re: here's what i have been up to

finally got some progress pics here's one of the blazer's body work progress, pulled it out of the shop just for a pic then right back in it went.

here's one of the assembly progress of the pick-up, it sure made it nice when somebody else started to pay for its assembly

Re: here's what i have been up to

I don't think you have to worry about people getting tired of checking this thread. I only can speak for myself by saying I love to see the progress projects are making. Like many others have said before me, it inspires me. The blazer has changed so much in so little time, it's amazing. I look forward to seeing it when you lower it (if you still decide to) and what ever else is on the plate. Keep the updates coming.
