1973 Cheyenne Super 10

Here are the pics of the Cheyenne I bought in Kansas . It was a long drive home and gas mileage was bad to say the least . It was neat having people give me thumbs up all the way home . I have a few pics but since I am on dialup , I will post a few at a time . The truck has an awesome interior . I love the factory seat material . I looked it over and I am sure it is original paint and all interior is original . It has flaws but they are expected in a 35 year old truck . Here you go . These first pics were taken on the southern edge of Oklahoma . Beautiful scenery for a few miles .

That looks much better than the indoor pics. It may have some flaws, but doesn't appear to have many. You sucked up another time capsule Frank...

Re: 1973 Cheyenne Super 10

Last ones for now . The pic of the seat makes it look dirty and faded . The fabric condition on the whole seat looks like the pic of the seatbelt closeup . My camera wont capture the entire seat with enough detail to show it real condition . This truck really is a time capsule to 1973 .

Very nice, I only noticed the chip in the lower left windshield as the only flaw.

I took several shots out the front window and every one has that chip in it. Frank

Re: 1973 Cheyenne Super 10

One surprise was the rear axle with Optional Axle Ratio ZN8 which one of the original papers shows 3.73 . I could have done with a 3.07 or so but that is how it was ordered . It also has a solid rubber rear window seal and it shows up on the SPID as Delete Rear Window M . On the window sticker it says Delete Rear Window Moulding . I thought that was odd .

Wow!

Nice truck!

I wouldn't change a thing.

Kind of ironic the original sale date was on August 10th, 35 years ago today.

There is one thing my wife noticed . My wife works at Texas A & M University . I just bought a Burnt Orange and White truck with this badge on the dash . Can you say University of Texas .

Re: 1973 Cheyenne Super 10

Frank the more I see the pics the more amazed I am. That condition of this truck is totally amazing.

You mentioned in another post about changing wheels. I think this truck need a set of the factory alloy wheels. I can't remember exactly the years that they were available, but I bet Jeff or Chris can.

I' don't want to clutter up your thread with a pic. Take a look here so you know what I'm talking about.-Link

I'll find a pic so you know what I'm talking about.
Ken , I think I know the wheels you are talking about . They were also used on late 80's Suburbans . I should be getting a set in a day or two . They are clearcoated satin finish but I will polish them . I thought about them for the black truck until I get something better. For this one , I have thought about a set of L-78 15's on the original wheels . The hubcaps are pitted and I will have to replace them if I can find a nice set . The truck is nice . The pics help it a little but it is nice . I am in awe of the interior . No cracks in the dash at all .It is weird reaching for a shoulder strap and it not being there . Lap belts only . The lack of drip rails is another weird sight for me . The other neat thing about it is that our school colors (Caldwell, Tx ) are burnt orange and white .

Yes, those are the ones. I changed my post and added a link. They do look really good polished up. Stick them on this one beore they go on your black truck. They will set the black truck of nicely, but I think they might give this one a good look as well.
