Frank... I'm glad to hear you had a great trip back home. I will say that this truck is totally amazing on how clean and original everything is. I personal have never seen anything this old that looks so "new/original". I'm not a huge fan of longbeds either... but this one would of stayed in Wichita if Frank would not had purchased it AWESOME FIND and CONGRATS FRANK!!

If you ever need anything in the future... feel free to call!

Thanks,
Anthony

Super truck! Is that seat fabric and/or pattern what would be called "houndstooth"? That thing looks like it was tucked in a fallout shelter and just re-discovered. Like King Tut's tomb!

That thing is gorgeous... that burnt orange is kinda like ochre to me.... I really used to dislike it but it has definetly grown on me... I am also extremely partial to the 73-74 trucks.... the grille and the model emblems on the fender make all the difference... kudos...

I can't do anything but repeat everyone else's sentiments --- love it

I would be paranoid of the other driver's if i was driving that-- they can only have original paint the one time

Thanks for the compliments guys . I have a question . Is Coker Tire the only place to buy L-78 15 bias ply tires ? I would like to install a set on this truck just for originality but cant find L78 Firestones .

Thanks Anthony,
I intended to meet up with you while in KS but, since it was raining ,my wife wanted to turn right around and head south . Once I found out it had a 3.73 rear axle , I knew it would be a slower trip home . I offer many thanks for your assistance in this purchase . The old guy said he likes your truck . He said he liked the way it sat and that you were a real nice guy . His wife had the same things to say about you so it sounds like I missed out by not meeting you in person .
Thanks Again!
Frank

Coker tire has L-78's, but they are BFG's, not Firestones...

Re: 1973 Cheyenne Super 10

That reminds me of my old truck - 75 Scottsdale. It was the same burnt orange color.

I never saw another one the same color as long as I owned it.

It's the one vehicle I wish I had never let go.

I would love to have the paint code off of yours when you get a chance.

FWIW, I would add 15x8 rally's and drive around with a big ole grin.

Congrats on the score!!!

Welcome to the 1973 club. If it rains, just open the door and wait a second before exiting. The rain will run off the roof and onto the ground instead of your lap leading people to believe you might have "issues".

I still say buy those NOS caps you were looking for and run the truck this way. It is so original and nice it almost is illegal. Funny I say this, I mod everything I own pretty much....yours seems to be the exception for me.

Drip rail 101

73's didn't have them, they were offered as an option in 74, became standard in 75.

Looks Super Nice Frank! I really like the 73-74 models.

Funny thing is I made that same or similar trip in January to Victoria Kansas to pick up my 64 C20. I remember that brief scenic part driving through south central Oklahoma. It was 18 degrees when we left Hays Kansas in the morning. The wife and I made a 4 day trip out of it. (mixed in a little sight seeing)
