I went to work today, but didn't schedule any trucks to spray. It was an official playin' hookie Lil' Red day. Waxed her all up and started installing the seats. They were donated from an 04' Yukon Denali for a steal. Had to center the 10" sub on the back panel. Phoenix Gold 5 channel giant amp is behind passenger seat mouted to a leather look vinyl 5/8" partical board. You can see my 6x9's Kappa's in the corners. Pioneer 960 deck in it's lil' housing hangs to the lower dash. Just thought I'd show some interior pics. Oh she's on skates too!!! They work great! Easy to move!

looks real nice. i kinda dig the placement of the front speakers on the floor. only have to be sure somebody don't stick their foot in it

Well the front speakers were REALLY a challenge!!! I first bought the store kick panel deals and they were a mess and cheap! Infinity Kappas are way deep and no way were they going to fit in the plastic kick panels everyone sells So I formed up a mold to house the 6.5" and 1" tweet. Well it's so deep that if you install it on the kick panel it interfere with your feet on the pass side and you can't get to the highbeam switch...also E brake lever was in the way. So I mounted them facing you.... inbetween your feet. Drivers side is right where the clutch pedal would be depressed. I'm automatic trans so it worked. I may re-form the housings into a more appealing shape but for now...they is what they is...and the sound great!

Lil' Yellow...will look great when you are done!!! I have a immpecable steel floor. No dents anywhere. This steel floor is nicest floor I have ever seen. They must have hauled leaves an nothing else.

Seats aren't too bad. I centered the adjustable track under the seat, put the seat on a large piece of paper and made a template where to drill the holes. I drilled slightly over sized holes to give me some adjustment play room. Set the grade 8 bolts in the track holes and dropped the seat into place. Steel plates with the correct size hole for the seat bolt to go through will the welded under the cab for safety.

Skokie, I haven't made the haeavy steel plates to weld underneath yet. Basically will be a square or rectangle plate with the correct size fitting hole placed over the bolt coming through the larger floor board hole. Doing it this way gives me adjustment, and then when the seats are just where I want them weld the heavy steel plate to secure and make the seats safe.

Thanks Grease! The Infinity Kappa speakers sound incredible! The funny thing is the front and rear speaker housings were formed from frozen pizza boxes cardboard and then scuffed and fiberglassed, bondo, sand, and then covered in the vinyl leather look material with contact cement . Same with the deck housing. If I was to do it again I would spray them in black GatorHyde bed liner material. That would give then an OEM Guitar amp look. I made the 10" sub box to look like a mini Guitar amp...can you see the Fender knobs on the top??? Phoenix Gold 10" sub is plenty of rumble!!! Amp is putting out some like 900 watts. The sys sounds clean and can freakin' hurt your ears when turned up! Might pull the housings out and spray them...but that is not a priority right now. And really as you sit in the seats they are NOT in your feets way. Of course you can kick them if you try...but why would ya do that??? Works for me and I didn't like the way they stuck out when mounted on the kick panel.

Thanks Barn, Thanks LUV! I sprayed a truck liner from Century Chevrolet this morning and then quickly went to working on Lil' Red's drivers side seat. Got it where it needs to be. Gotta make some heavy steel brackets to weld under the cab, but the seats are in and they fit....just right!!! Ain't progress a good thang!!! My painter tells me not to worry about the cab gas hole he can weld it up and paint to match...so I'm just chuggin along.

Going to bring back my electric one piece window install thread and work on finishing the windows next.

That was the first "Fired" painters F.U. New found awesome (expensive) painter says to finish the truck and he's going to weld in a patch piece and paint and blend any and all imperfections (there is a few). He says because the paint has NO metalic in it he will be able to blend it perfectly. Correct paint codes and his talents will be the trick.

I put buckets out of a AMC spirit in my truck and the amc already had a removable plate under the car on each bolt from the factory so it worked out perfect!

Have you thought about finding a junk tank and cutting the filler spout off and reinstall the grommet and gas cap for an original look? That's what I'm planning to do with my truck so it can be restored to original if needed someday. Just a thought.

By the way, the truck looks great. Love the red/tan color combination.

Yes , that option has been thought and milled over. I really want the hole filled. This truck will never go back to stock...it's been a resto-mod from the beginning. One thing I just couldn't do though was cut the radio dash hole or the doors for a modern stereo...just hate the cut radio hole way of life!

Could not agree with you more...Something about a plastic aftermarket radio in a metal dash...Of course, your going to have to find a mint factory radio for that interior..Hopefully you already have one b/c youll probably end paying more for that to sit there and look pretty than an aftermarket

I was thinking last night about using removable a thick large maybe 2" x 2" plate and not welding??? Would melt my Extreme DynoMat sound deadner or burn my carpet??? Guess I could mark precisly where the plates go, pull the seats back out and roll the carpet back and weld, then replace the burned up DynoMat??? Proabably just bolt in removable plates and call it done.
