Shortening a Long Fleetside Bed to a Short Fleetside Bed:
Kick Panel Vent Rebuild / December 2012 - with some neat pictures and links. These are the vents by your feet on each side of the cab. Chevy calls them: Cowl Outlets in the shop manuals.
use the Jeep door stops on our trucks... hold the door open on a hill, the originals door checks just stop it from opening too far. By all accounts, it is a bolt in with no modifications required. Photos, links to how to articles, etc.

Off the shelf Chevrolet parts, Near Zero Modification (either shorten drive shaft or go for zero mods by buying one new), direct bolt in of a Mid 80s Chevrolet Astro Van T5 with 11" Astro Van clutch kit with the addition of the S10/1500 flywheel to support the larger diameter clutch assembly.
Engine is the common 250 cu in Chevy I6. Lots of details, parts numbers and photos.
with photos... 1965 GMC panel that is being converted to a "K" series. crate 350 - Advance Adapter b/housing- NV4500 from Smart Parts, Kansas City, MO; they also modified the output shaft for t/c adaption- advance adapter for the NP205 t/c- advance adapter for t/c shifter linkage.
aftermarket cross members, later model Chevy truck parts to use instead.
