Need a Pic of the Power steering pump an brackets on a 78 c10

I took pictures before I took everything off, but what I did not do is remember to put them in a place where I could find them! So does any body have or can you go take a picture of your power steering pump on the engine? I'm so close to turning it over, but I want it all done fist.

Thanks
Bryan

Excuse the fuzzy oil spooge, it's new and haven't made myself clean it yet.
Let me know if you need a different angled pic.

Thanks! That does help. I see where the top bolts too, but what about the bottom? I also see that I'll be running into an issue with the top right. The part that bolts onto the exhaust bolt. With headers on the bolt is closer to the engine.

Top one goes into the head, lower inside bolt goes onto the front of the water pump, and the outer hooks to the bracket off the exhaust manifold. The lower one should be long slotted for adjustment along with the bracket on the outside. It pivots off the top bolt.

I can get you a pic a little later if that doesnt help.

I don't think your gonna get a pic of the one on the bottom. It's real hard to see. It goes on the bottom back side of the resevoir, it'll bolt toward the bottom of the block and should probably stretch to the other bracket on the header bolts. It's the skinny long one. It should be one of first parts of the accessories to go back on. The other stuff bolts right about were you would think. The one I just did was on an 82'--so I'm not sure they are exactly the same.

I think that one you're describing came on the 81 up trucks, and nobody reuses that bracket anyway cause it is so hard to get to, and isn't necessary for support. It's very rare to find one.
You could have saved the trouble of putting yours back on.

I would appreciate that. I'll be home in an hr and I'll see what I can get done. If you look at the part that bolts to the exhause, it sticks out a lot longer then it does with the header on. I don't think every thing will line up, keep your fingers crossed.

I know it'll be hard to get that shot, it's a bad angle.

Looks like your manifold bracket is different than mine. Here are a couple shots I was able to get hope they help.

Actually read it wrong, the other guy that posteds manifold bracket is a bit different than mine. Mine is a non-a/c model so that may be the difference. All I did when I added the headers is get a long grade 5 bolt and a steel spacer sleeve and trim it to fill in the gap with a washer on each end.

Thanks guys, I got it on. Now all I need is a shot of the bottom alternator bracket! I had to shave off part of the top bracket because it was hitting the the intake. One more bracket and I'm good to go.

WOW thanks for the pics, I just bought another 85 C-10 and the power steering bracket it leaning back towards the engine, and not lining up with the A/C compressor now I have a reference point...

Re: Need a Pic of the Power steering pump an brackets on a 78 c10

Well, I got it all on! I did find another problem with this engine. Well not really the engine but more like JEGS. I couldn't get the alternator bracket to line up because the Air Gap intake raises the bolt position. I went to buy a new bracket but all of the ones at the parts stores are for gen1 350's. They don't work on Vortc heads (no one told me that). I also found out that the carberator brackets don't work either. Because the head bolts are streight up and down and not at an angle like my old 350. I ending up cutting the stock alternator bracket and used a spacer to get the alternator lined up, and Pepboys had the right linkage brackets. All I got to do now is change out the trans pan gasket (it leaked as soon as we put fluid in it) hook up the linkage and rig up an exhaust system. Then I can run it around the block! I'll be posting a vid in the other thread. I'll post a link here. Thanks alot for all your help guys.
