Hydro-boost

I have a 1982 c30 with the 6.2 diesel and the hydro-boost brake setup. The brake booster has what looks like a gasket right behind where the fluid lines enter (about an inch or so off the firewall) and the booster leaks from there. Has anyone had a leak there? Do I need to replace the whole booster or is it possible to just replace this seal?

Re: Hydro-boost

I have the same setup on my 87. Personally not had this problem but curious to see the answers just in case.

Re: Hydro-boost

its a seal up in the booster itself and I've had this little leak and its easier to just replace the booster

I don't think you can get rebuild kits for them any more

Re: Hydro-boost

Just replace the booster/master cylinder. I have the same leak. Do you have to fill it with fluid every so often? If so, definitely replace both.

Re: Hydro-boost

The leak came all of a sudden. In one week I had no powersteering or brakes. At first the powersteering was a little stiff but the brakes were fine so I figured the power steering belt was just loose. Then two days later the truck wouldn't turn or stop. I looked under the hood and was like well then. The master is new. I put that in last year. I'll just have to replace the booster.
