Re: Drop Shocks????

You are going to want the drop shocks, unless you planning on relocating the mounting points. The reason: factory shocks will bottom out ant your truck will wide like a goat wagon.

Re: Drop Shocks????

Shorter shocks or shock extenders. If your shocks are in good condition, run the extenders. Longer travel is a bonus.

I suggest you consider the forum vendors as your first source.

Re: Drop Shocks????

It's more simple than you realize.

In the front, a drop spindle does not change the shock length or stroke. You can simply reuse your stock shocks.

In the rear, if your flip kit comes with shock extenders, again, you can use your factory shocks.

Re: Drop Shocks????

I'd buy some quality brand factory length shocks. You might actually run into trouble if you try and run drop shocks on your truck. Since the spindles and the flip with extenders doesn't change shock length, the drop shocks might be too short for the application. The drop shocks are shorter than original shocks.

Re: Drop Shocks????

Installing a flip kit is a good bit of work. You either have to remove the whole leaf spring and put it under the axle, or remove the back end of the leafs and disconnect everything on the axle and roll it back out from under the truck to get the leafs underneath it.

The shock extenders will take you maybe 5 minutes to install. They'd be the least of my worries.
