Re: I need some more ideas with my radio

if you can get to the rear of the radio underneat the dash you could bolt a strip of metal from the back of it to the firewall most radio's have a piece of treaded rod on the back to secure it or for the ground wire .
it not visible but if a thief wants the radio he prolly destroy the dash before he gives up

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...CategoryID=174

measure the total "thickness" of your potential plate...
take that measurement (and usually a measuring devicejust incase)
to ace hardware, lowes, or home depot..
get a rivet that is made for the "depth" of the metal you will be attaching (sorry i dont know this number`off the top of my head)
as for soft shank rivets... DO NOT USE STEEL SHANK RIVETS
unless you are partially bred with superhuman or Ape.....
a hand riveter can be bought here
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...CategoryID=174
or at walmart for 20 bucks..
so total investment is under 40 dollars and you have a new tool in which you can hand crank and shoot rivets at people with.!
he he he..

Re: I need some more ideas with my radio

you can get this same style deal at walmart ..>>> http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=38353
and DOTN FORGET heheh to grab a two or three pack of new drill bits..

here's some guides hehehe
i would reccomend getting a countersuk rivet so that you have a flush mount with the metal plates..
and that way it womt interfere with your front dash bezel
http://www.thefastenerconnection.com.../PopRivet.html
good thick sheetmetal can be obtained from old freezers, lowes home depot etc..
hell even old truck parts..

good luck!
