Re: holley terminator efi

Just ordered one, it's the best unit if you want to upgrade as it can control a trans and be upgraded to whatever you need

Re: holley terminator efi

I like that the Holley can control the ignition curve as well by using a stock GM small cap HEI.

Just got one getting ready to install on 59 p/u thinking it should work out well. Don't know much about it though just what I've seen on the tube.

Re: holley terminator efi

There is some info at this link for an EFI shootout. I can not get their link to the article to work right now but about a month ago it did work and I got a chance to read it. Good stuff if you are looking for EFI. I am building an 86 IROC TPI with Megasquirt.

I can't find any info about how it can control a trans. You mean an electronic trans right? Like 4L60E and 4L80E? Can you send a link on that?

The Holley link I read mentions nothing about an integral trans controller.

I'll let you know soon how the FIRST TPI turns out. We hope to fire the engine this coming weekend.

Re: holley terminator efi

The Holley Dominator ECU will control a 4L60E or 4L80E

http://www.holley.com/554-114.asp

I'm not sure if a guy can upgrade from the Terminator ECU to the Dominator.

Personally if I was going to upgrade to EFI, I would go with sequential MPFI and the Dominator ECU if funds allow.

I *believe* the hardware is the same and it's just a software and maybe harness upgrade to have Dominator functionality.

Re: holley terminator efi

The First TPI, fired on the first try. I've now got about 2300 miles on the engine and its rock solid. We've probably done about 4 tunes and it's just running great. Idles smooth, starts first time every time. The new engine is starting to loosen up and I getting between 16-17mpg at 70mph. Big improvement over the 10mpg the old 400 sb was getting.

For the same price or less, as the TBI systems, you can get buy the FIRST TPI. And in my opinion it looks so nice.

Click on the photo for video.
