Vintage Air temps
is there an ambient temp sensor in the Vintage air system? I just got my truck outta the shop and tried the a/c... the air didnt get cold and after asking him what was up he said something about an ambient temp sensor and that because it was like 60 outside the a/c wouldnt blow colder then that... sounds like a load of b/s to me, but thought I'd run it by "the pros" on this forum.

I'd check with Vintage Air for an answer. Seems like you'd see 40-50 degrees or less at the vents if you've got it set on the coldest setting?

If you have a "sure-fit" system for our trucks, there is a temp sensor in there somewhere, but it's not for ambiant temp. There is also a knob under the far right side of the dash to make it get colder before the A/C clutch lets off. In my truck, even at 35 degrees outside the Vintage Air system will blow colder.

Its BS...it should blow cold regardless of the ambient temp. Which system is it. I have installed several and never had this problem, their product is top notch.

There is not an ambient air temp senser. Need to check the adjustable thermostat setting (full clockwise the back off 1/8 turn). If that checks ok, check the heater valve operation and make sure the hose past the valve is cooler than before the valve (between engine and valve). If that checks ok, we would need to know the low and high side head pressures - very common problem that it could be overcharged if installer not familiar with the proper charging procedure for the VA systems.
