Impala steering column swap?

Has anyone done this? The columns look similar. Just wondering if anyone has done anything other than the usual 73-87 swap or aftermarket piece.

Re: Impala steering column swap?

I have done similar swap years ago. I think the column 's are very close, but the mounting point...2 bolts up thru are in a different location. You need to drill out the rivet holding the reinforcing plate. Move it to new location, then drill new holes. May not be needed if your looking for more room behind the wheel.

Thanks for the response. I found a salvage yard with dozens of 65-67 Impalas, as well as an auction for a 65 column with tilt.
