2 barrel carb question
I was just sitting here thinking I forgot to pull the carb today in my recently acquired 67 with 283 and 2 barrel. I was going to rebuild it myself but had decided to just have it done.
A little lightbulb (tiny) went off in my head...I have whats left of a 65 GMC with a V6 sitting there with a rebuilt 2 barrel carb on it. Does anyone know if this carb would work with my 283 without any weird linkage or any other problems for that matter? |

I know for a fact i replied to this last night WTF
 Do the two carbs look similar? do they share the same mounting pattern? if they are similar, throw it on, and try it out. Worse comes to worse, you waste an hour or two, take it back off, and throw a rebuild in the one you are currently running.

lol..dunno what to tell you brak. The GMC isnt at my house and the Chevy is. I was hoping to save a trip but it looks like I need to get off my lazy rear and go take it off and bring it home.

The jetting will be different... The time you spend trying to get the 65 carb to work you could probably rebuild the one you have which is not only the correct one for the truck, but has the right jetting, etc.

If memory serves me correct, they are different carbs altogether. The 67 likely has a rochestor 2GC while the GMC likely has a Stromberg. That being said, it still may mount up.
