Help on Restoration?? 69C10 388Stroker
I'm in the process of converting drums to disc in the front end and newer drums in the rear of my 69. I have now for this process of the summer project: -71 front end disc to swap with my original front end -93 Rear end axle with 98Drums -?-My radiator is of course old"." So I'm wanting to update it to newer, nicer radiator and to find a $cost a college student can afford!? (Me, full time/off for the summer) -----Any ideas on what year I can search for to swap out my radiator with another one? As well as an ideas on a site I can shop off of to swap without a lot of modifying? Any tips would be awesome! Defiantly on the conversion of drums to disc??? |

We've personally used several on 60-66 and several 69-71 pickups and also on some tri-five chevy's and on some sixties-Cadillacs and Pontiacs, all with good results after several years' use. As far as disc swap, if your '71 front end is in good shape, it'll be more straight-forward to swap entire crossmember and avoid trying to match 'shafts and holes'. Keep in mind: u can save some $ on new caliper hoses by buying from Rock Auto on the web--like $15 for a pair. Compare that to local stores, and even w/shipping you'll likely save considerably. Hey!
Thanks so much!! I'll try to check out that website and save some money for sure!! And no luck on swaping the whole front end cross member. I only bought the front 71 A arms. So it sounds like I'll have to see what I can do to mount them up. Again, Thanks sooo much!! ~Tyler |
