Source for OEM dash pads.

I didnt know that gm still made em. BUT. its paint to match. I think they all come grey. I was bored and playing on the parts counter here at work."work at a chevy dealer" looked up 90 suburban and you can still get the pads.. Just go to gm parts direct and look em up part number is 15641405 Price is 336.28. I think this will work from 81-up?

Has anyone used these guys? I heard they were pricy as well and the shipping would kill me.

Re: Source for OEM dash pads.

I'm looking for one too.
Classic Industries $189.99 plus oversize 2 shipping cost of $62.90
Classic Parts $259.95 plus shipping oversize 27.95
LMC $339.95 but get a 10% discount and free shipping as ordering over $1K.

Just wondering about the quality and fit of these for my 85 Scottsdale.
Also if they have the "speaker holes" like original.

Re: Source for OEM dash pads.

If you want it to fit "perfect" buy the stock one from GM.

I actually contacted them about 3 or 4 years ago. They wanted something like $500 to redo my old dash. You would think that it would cost less to refurbish an old dash versus buying a new one, but right now this isn't the case. Last year while I was at the swap meet, I was talking to a guy that had a slick '87 C-10 for sale. He told me that he bought the one in his truck from Cheyenne Pickup Parts http://cheyennepickupparts.com/ for $225.95 plus a $15 oversize charge for shipping. They are available in the original colors.

The dash on this particular truck looked good to me, and it had the speaker holes as original, although the one that he had, the shape was more diamond shape than square as original. Most people would never notice that anyway. I asked about if it was flimsy since I had heard that most of the aftermarket ones are, and tend to sink down and or warp almost as soon as they are installed. He told me to take another look at his. He said it had been in the truck over a year, and had no problems with it, and assured me that it wasn't flimsy. If you want to save some money versus buying an OEM pad, this may be your best option. ....Joe

Re: Source for OEM dash pads.

So, do you work at a chevy/gm dealer? If so, i could use some "lookups," and might even buy from you if the prices are right.

Re: Source for OEM dash pads.

I bought mine from the local Chevy dealer in '05 for $276, which was lower than the list price. The guy at the counter had a '76 K15 GMC so he hooked me up.
