Spray on truck bed liner

I’ve been thinking of spraying the truck of my bed with Rhino Linings. I called for a price and they said $350 which doesn’t sound bad for a long bed. I’m thinking of going black and not using any of the special colors they offer, sounds retarded to me. Also thinking of putting on chrome railings with some nice tie downs, thinking I'll probably need to take care of the rust I do have.

Has anybody else had their truck bed setup with this stuff or something similar? Just curious what the general coconscious is.

If you want some tie downs, there are some that you put in your stake holes. You can push them down for a flush look when not using them, and pop them up into place when you need them. My Dad got some for his truck, used them this weekend, pretty nice!

$350 sounds like a great deal to me. What is the warranty? Is it life-time against crack, chips, or fading? Whats Rhino's phone number and where do you live?

I have some rails that you can have if you like. They arent perfect, but are in pretty good shape. Ill check when I get home to see if I still have them or not. I may have thrown them out.

Well I was a little off, called local dealer to me at (480) 969-4000 and they said $365 for an 87 long bed under the rails. For an additional $50 they’ll spray the top of the truck rails. Warranty is as long as you own the truck against pretty much anything, if you cause the damage the re-spray cost is $250 because ‘you have to spray the whole thing again’ according to the salesman. For prep work all you need to do is wash it out before you bring it in.

Oh and I’m at Val Vista and Guadalupe in Gilbert, pretty much in another state, heh.

Thanks for the rails offer, I’m not really sure what kind I want to go. I’m debating between the pop up tie downs and chrome rails all the way around.

I also found a place called Line-X, (602) 953-5443 I-17 & Deer Valley 21242 N. Black Canyon Road Phoenix, doing a search for other products. I just talked to a lady named Carol who was doing a grand opening deal and said she would spray my truck bed for $369 and would also do the rails for no additional charge until the end of the month. You don’t need to have it completed by January end just have an appointment made to get the offer. She also informed me the Line-X is a hot application and isn’t susceptible to the Rhino Linings cold application problems like running and such, plus the Rhino stays a soft rubbery texture unlike the Line-X that does harden. Also the cure time for Line-X is 5 seconds compared to 24-48 hours for Rhino. I’ve not been able to verify any of this yet but I’ll do more research on it tonight and post some reviews and such as I find them.

Personally, I've heard that Line-X is a better lining then Rhino liner. However, I don't have personal experience with either.

I was just suprised. Because last time I looked into it, it was like $500 to do my short bed fleet side. Line-X does look good and so does inyatti (?). But I never really checked out a Rhino in person. I like the "rubber" feel better then the hard rough feel.

I wonder how much they would charge to do the floor in the cab and the back wall of the cab (no higher then the seat). I think that would be sweet and real easy to clean.

I have a Rhino in mine. I got it sprayed over 4.5 years ago. At the time, it was really the only one available. I don't have any exerperience with the other brands, but I do know that Rhino is top quality. I've used and abused mine, and it hasn't cracked, or split or anything. Everyone is always surprised at how thick it's sprayed on. My only complaint is that it has faded. It used to be a really nice shiny black. Now it's sort of dull. You can buy some stuff to put the shine back on, but it doesn't last long. I think all of the liners will do that with age, but I'm not sure.

I don't know if it makes much difference or not, but Rhino is one of the first to come out with the spray-on liners. I think they're pioneers in the field.

I would recommend the Rhino to anybody.

Saw a demonstration of Line-X a couple of weeks ago on Trucks. They sprayed Stacey's Bronco project. The coating is a hot 2 part resin and harder that cures to a very hard textured surface in under a minute and you are ready to go once they remove the tape and when you pay the money. I believe this is the way to go and thats what I am planning to do after I get the truck repainted in a year or two or when I replace the box.

My dad's Dodge came with a Rhino lining when we bought it. We haven't managed to destroy the stuff which is saying alot! I don't know about the fading because it is under a tonnu cover. The texture is like a hard rubber/plastic. It's good stuff & I have checked up on it before. Line-X and Rhino are about the same price. I found out Rhino has buisnesses do the work and Line-X has INDIVIUALS do the work. Becareful about the Line-X in that reguard. I know that Rhino linings cannot have graphics or multicolored. Line-X can do all kinds of crazy stuff like flames and other - it is apperently due to the application process.

Great debate. I've looked at Rhino and have seen Line-X but not compared them side by side. I'd like to do that before deciding on one. I haev seen contractors with Rhino and that's tough stuff. Throwing rocks, gravel, concrete, and lumber din't hurt it a bit. Don't get teh cheaper stuff. It's not worth it. Fades, cuts your skin (yes there is one out there that has texture added to it that's like metal sharp shavings) and messy. Spend the money and make sure to check out the company.

I think speedliner is supposed to be better than either LineX or Rhino--4 Wheel & Off Road magazine did a test on them all a few years ago.

My 70 C-10 bed looked just like the original post pic (some rust etc.). Line-X told me that I'd have to have the whole bed sandblasted and then they could get me in within three days. I asked them what I was supposed to do with my truck for 3 days while it sat out in the humid south.

Put the Rhino liner in last spring. I've hauled engine hoists, tranny jacks, mulch, sand and gravel and haven't hurt a thing.
