What's your end result?

There never done, but they get to a point where your happy with it. What do you want your truck to look like at that point. New paint, 2 inches lower, 2 inches higher?

For me its a 100% resto-moded truck with a 2006+ GMC interior and a mildly built 350.

You?

Re: What's your end result?

For the truck I have now the end goal was always just to have a reliably running pickup. Never really wanted to fix it up aesthetically because it would have been so much work I didn't want to put into it. But with 81 I'm looking at now the goal would be to fix up the interior, not complerely redo, but to the point where there's no cracks in the dash or anything and no rips in the seats. Drop in a 6.5TD, and then custom fabbed front/rear bumpers and a headache rack. And maybe fresh paint.

Re: What's your end result?

Cosmetics have never been a primary goal for my projects. I find if I get the stnce the way I want, get the engine sounding good, and have a nice comfy interior, it gets just as many looks/turned heads as anything with a $5k paint job on it. Not dogging anyone that has nicely painted trucks, they look great. Just not a particular need of mine.

Re: What's your end result?

There are a couple things left for me to do on mine, A/C (Vintage Air), and maybe converting from a carburetor to EFI.

Re: What's your end result?

wanted to put a ls engine with the same magna charger as an ls9 vette and a richmond heavy duty five speed with 3.73 gears and a interior that would be as nice as a aston martin. point was to have a labtop under the seat and race fuel in the other tank and some pulleys in the glove box, once i did some changes i switch the tank over and run down the track at 600 hp and then switch everything back and drive home on just 450 and good gas mileage, in theory anyway thats how it should all work lol

Re: What's your end result?

I wanna install the air bag set up & door panels I already bought, replace the dash pad, mabey go back the bench seat in the rear (I'll have 3 Granduaghter's when I get home and it has 4 buckets now) repaint solid red, a few minor body mod's. probly never get that far, I have 2 V8 S10's that just need paint and they went to low priorty when I got the daully. since I've been gone I've bought a 78 malibu wagon, a 78 Cutlass and a crew cab car hauler that all need attention, so the Dually very well may be done after the air bag's !

I want the ugliest truck ever seen with an extremely obnoxious loud exhaust that pisses people off, with a mild lift and big tires. I got the ugliest part done

I'm just about there. would like to install a Scott's or No limits front coil over set up, notch the bed to lower the rear. I think she would look a lot better lowered more.

Re: What's your end result?

About 6" higher and 44's on 1-tons, and then the two tone Atomic Orange/White I'll be doing. The lift will probably never get done, but I'd love it.

Re: What's your end result?

I really want a truck that looks stock similar to Ken's, with a nice paint job that can blow the doors off of the majority of the cars at the strip and still drive home. Drivetrain/suspension is my priority goal right now. Stroked 390" LSx with a 80-88mm turbo, th400, ford 9", fat @$$ rear tires, trailing arm rear suspension, scott's ifs up front and a mid 10-sec timeslip would make me very happy. I got the LS part and 9" already now I just need to save for a stroker kit and turbo, that should happen when I come back from Okinawa(next duty station).

Re: What's your end result?

  • Complete all body work.
  • Replace cracked windshield.
  • High quality, but not the highest quality, blue and white paint job.
  • Purchase and install the factory trim kit.
  • Install new 21 circuit wiring harness. (put electrical issues to bed)
  • Gen IV Vintage Air System
  • Brakes/Suspension/and a rear end rebuild.
  • Oh, did I mention that the only things I have going for me is a new engine/trans/exhaust/Wheels/Tires. LOL

Thas'alotta dough.

Re: What's your end result?

For my crew cab I want it to be comfortable and work like it did when it was new with some upgrades. Like the 8.1 & 4l80e and all the cosmetics restored. Paint someday but its not a huge priority.

Re: What's your end result?

Get my crew running/driving. Or sell it so I can get something that's running/driving. If it doesn't sell, it will get a Cummins, possibly getting one tomorrow....

Re: What's your end result?

I have only recently just begun on my 1984 C20 project truck.

Its already a decent running truck with a well used work truck body, so my goal for it is to get the body looking decent (not show quality). Gotta keep the rust monster at bay; thankfully it doesn't have that much rust.

I am planning on using the truck for work and hauling tasks, but would like for it to be on the road for another 20 years. I would like for this to be my daily driver once I am done with my commuting job (another 4 & 1/2 years to go). I have been driving a compact/generic/soul-less car for so many years; when I am done with the commute I am going to enjoy driving the 454 around town with a big grin on my face.

Steady as she goes. When I have collected enough aluminum cans to finish the cosmetic wants and wishes and the I6 wears completley out I'd like to make it an electric truck.

Re: What's your end result?

I'll be happy with my truck once I get the tranny to quit leaking, and once the rocker panels and floor boards are all patched up and solid again. As long as it runs, and doesn't have any holes in the body or anything, it'll be good to go. Oh, and I'll also be happier when I have the 4" lift installed.

Save enough money so that in 30 years when gas is $50/gallon I can still use it as a daily driver and run everyone elses solar powered Kia off the road...

When that day comes the mufflers are getting cut off just so everyone knows the score.

Re: What's your end result?

My truck is the only vehicle I own, besides my Buick, that isn't a project...I bought it because it was in such good original shape, that other than cleaning up the engine bay a little, I can't think of an improvement to make on it...My project, or challenge, will be to maintain it as loyally as the p.o. ...

Re: What's your end result?

My burb started out life as a scottsdale model with the following factory options;
1. Intermittent wipers.
2. Rear Auxiliary heater.
3. Power back glass w/defroster
4. Clearance lights.
5. AM/FM Cassette player.

So far in the last 5 years that I've owned it I've installed the following;
1. Aftermarket bucket seats w/center console-jump seat.
2. Factory power window, locks and mirrors (spare parts I've had laying around)
3. Upgraded the headliner and rear cargo area to Silverado trim as well as the second row seats from vinyl to cloth.
4. Tilt steering column.
5. Cruise Control.
6. Tinted all side windows.
7. Upgraded to all led lights inside and out and added even more to the inside so I can see inside it at night when needed.
8. HID headlights.
9. Upgrades the mirrors to heated/turnsignal power mirrors.
10. Installed rear air deflector.
11. '07 roof rack.
12. Installed a Factory tach and air pressure gauge.
13. Air Horns.
14. Powder coated outer door handles.

Future plans include;
1. powder coat the bumpers.
2. Get a bit of rusted out area behind the rear wheel wells taken care of.
3. build up a 383 for it.
4. Dakota Digital Gauges
5. Heated Seats (Before winter?)
6. Put together a ram air hood Using the remains of a 72 cutlass 442 hood I have
7. Dually Conversion
8. Gen IV Vintage Air air conditioning.
9. Paint
