tuba trucks
morning all...
we started on a shop truck about 6 weeks ago. just needed a driver to run for parts and cruise about town. did the body work the first couple of weeks and sprayed a couple of coats of epoxy primer. then we built a fresh 283 to replace the old tired six. pulled the stick out and installed turbo 350. 2 weeks ago we got the logo on the doors and painted the grill and bumper. this past weekend the motor got broken in, redid the brakes and a lokar shifter was installed. so thats where we are now... not running but close. |

Nice and clean! I like the green engine against the black inner fenders. Good job.

got a few other things to do to her before she goes to work but its been a fun project... so far thank you tj, always kinda wanted to do a satin black truck with the red wheels and wide whites. Quote:

thanks man, the truck sat around here for a year before the idea came about but the actual work began mid september. we were trying to get it done by the truck party in october but didn't make it. funny thing though, the one-shot paint on the door art was still wet that saturday, glad nobody touched it.... will be back working on the shop truck soon. it lives outside and we got some cold rainy weather coming in so... back to the garage for me. thanks for the compliments guys. |

Re: tuba trucks
Wow that looks great! I'm not sure what impresses me most - the wheel/tire combo, the neat and subdued detailing under the hood, or the door art. Nice decisions and execution all the way around!

Re: tuba trucks
Awesome. Heck it takes me weeks to change tires it seems. Years to put a project together. Hoping to put my new (to me) 63 back on the road in a couple months.

a whole lot less work but still a pretty good result. good luck with your project and keep after it... did a t-shirt this year of the logo, the one thats on the doors of the shop truck. it turned out pretty good and i stuck a couple in the inside of every hobby truck or car that showed up. last years t-shirt is kinda sentimental as it was the 'year of red'... here it is... |
