Best blazer fuel tank kit for the money?

Ok, I need to get a tank for my blazer, as I am getting close to having the mechanicals worked out. I am looking for a decently priced one shipped to 13790. I have been looking on here and reading what others have said, and I have decided that I don't care whether it is Poly or Steel, since I am in the north, poly might be better, but doesn't matter.

Now I am looking for the best price shipped on a kit. LMC's kit is $250 shipped, while Brother's is $275. GMC Pauls are $270 for poly and $290ish for Steel

Is there another vendor I should be looking at? I need the complete kit as I have none of the hardware. I would prefer new, but will consider a used one for the price if anyone knows where there is one.

So what other companies are out there, and what are the pro's and con's of each companies product if you know it.

If you are in the market for a used one i can check out the used one off of the blazer i am using for parts. I know it has no holes. I dont know what all you need but i could let you know if i have it or not and it would be alot cheaper i am sure than buying brand new. Let me know if you are interested. I will probably get back out to the shop on wendesday so i could get you more info and clean it up some if you are interested.

I would need the sending unit, straps, tank, and could use fuel lines if they are cheap enough. It would depend on shipping costs to me, and my guess is that it'll end up around the same price as new.

so is that a yes or a no? should i clean it up or no? I have the tank and the original straps and the original mounting hardware but i wouldnt have the sending unit. I mean you could have the one that is in it but i am unsure how functional it is.

I'm probably going to have pass right now. I think I'll probably stick to new unless it's less than $50 Plus shipping.

ok, as long as it doesn't leak, and includes all mounting brackets, I'll take it for that.

Re: Best blazer fuel tank kit for the money?

If you want an oversized tank that fits in the stock location, try Northwest Metal Products. They make a 40 gallon steel tank for the Blazer. Kit comes with sending unit, straps, etc. I bought one about 12 years ago and have nothing but good things to say about it. Sure beats the stock 32 gallon unit for driving radius without a fill up! Forget the price, but they have a website that you can check out.

Forgot to mention that the tank also has a tapped bung near the bottom of the tank (on the side) to drain it easilly.

Re: Best blazer fuel tank kit for the money?

yeah, I would rather have the extra capacity (almost twice) but can't justify it right now. Maybe once I have it on the road I'll be able to.

Re: Best blazer fuel tank kit for the money?

Wow. The price really did go through the roof! Like Burt, I think I paid something like $250 for it 12 years ago. Glad I got it when I did. The 21 gallon unit was too small to get anywhere on one tank!

Re: Best blazer fuel tank kit for the money?

If you buy new, be carfull what you purchase. Most companies sell the Blazer tank assembly with sending units with floats prone to failure. I use to sell the same sending units untill I found better. They are a little more expencive however well worth the money to avoid possibly having to drop your tank to replace a float. WES
