What did you get done?

I spent Saturday working so I didn't do much else. Today after church I went to a swap meet and picked up a complete set of trim for a 68 Chevy truck. I bought the entire set from front to rear including the rear bumber. Got a smoking deal from Roger at Out Back Truck parts.... Now I'm off to volleyball practice with my daughter.

What did you get done?

No, but I got y'all thinking for a minute. I just picked the trim up for a friend to save him shipping costs. I wish I had a 68 though.....

i havent done a dern thing on the trucks in the entire week although i did use it to haul garbage off a site so one of these days i need to get this thing unloaded. This weekend has been a bad one as my son is in the hospital and they only allow visiting from 130-3pm and that kinda ruins the whole day
One of these days i need to work on my little ranger that thing really has abad front end vibration

I noticed an increasingly bad vibration in the front suspension of my 74 that needed attention. I got the jack out for a look & couldn't find any bent/broken pieces but did find one of my Dunlop Sport 9000's w/a palm size bald spot surrounded by tread on either side. WTF??

I've known the inside/outside edges of the tires have shown excellerated wear vs. the center tread so I knew some new tires were in my future. But, I didn't know what to think of the palm size bald spot.

I got to Discount Tire (Thanks N2Billet, Frank took care of me) & after they were dismounted I noticed the tread where the bald spot was located was actually getting ready to separate from the sidewall. Freakin scary since I drove on the tollway & hwy to get there.

He said they might have been able to warranty the failure if not for the excessive inner/outer wear from the alignment. Figures.

So w/some new Sport 9000's on the front it rides soooooooo much better w/o any trace of vibration. Weird thing? It doesn't pull anymore (did pull hard left) vs. just prior to the tire replacement. I assume the irregular wear was causing the pull . . ..... but what caused the irregular wear?

I'm going to get the alignment re-checked Monday or Tuesday & see what's up w/the excessive wear. Other than that I washed the 74 but never got around to polishing the wheels & did some measuring for my bucket seat swap. I also cut out the factory 3spd trans/bellhousing crossmember on my 68 to make room for the 'new' used 350/350 (Thanks N2TRUX). I'm getting ready to bolt in the V8 frame towers now & will hopefully get the motor/trans home tomorrow after work.

Saturday.... did some electrical work at the shop that's going to do the clutch job on my Ford. Barter system rocks

Sunday... took the family to a local avaition museum. Later I'm going to change rear tires on my Burb. Seems like one of them picked up a bolt and has a slow leak.

I went Ape$hit on my truck friday night. A/C, Heat, Fuse box and wiring harness, radio, guages, dashpad all GONE. Starting over and going bare neccesities.
(will have pics up in my thread concerning the topic later on)

Saturday I continued on a customer car (1956 Chevy) pulled the heater box and repainted it (from black to the factory gray) and continued installation on the complete wiring harness in it.

Today I test fitted a set of 15X3.5 Weld Prostars on my firebird front end, to make sure that they would clear the corvette brakes I've got on it.

Overall, got a good deal of stuff done this weekend.

Went 4x4ing and wheeling yesterday. Screwing around in a creek, driving up and down it. Throwing a bunch of mud in a field with a ditch running through it, had to use the 4wheel drive but got it right out. Been lazy and broke for the rest of the weekend.

took my 93 C2500 i bought on Tuesday to a buddy's shop and picked up his trailer on Friday. Saturday AM i helped my uncle set the big block back into his 91 C3500. Saturday afternoon i hauled a race car to the races for the guy i picked up the trailer from. dropped the car off at the car last night. got up this AM, helped another buddy by hauling his '72 Firebird to his place. swapped on a set of wheels and tires he scored for $100, and arranged a game plan on the restoration. here's a pic of the '72.

I spent Saturday starting to clean up my garage, and cleaning up the 89 Chevy 1500 I picked up last weekend. I put 98 buckets in it, and added a grille guar and some general maintainence to it as well. I picked up some new wash goodies, and helped my buddy detail his bike that we finished up for a show today. It took first place, so that was nice.

Today I washed all of our cars, and moved the last engine that has been taking up space in my garage. Then I cleaned some more. I did pull the nasty rear carpet and pad out of my blazer, and sort through some of the parts from it. In tinkering around with the blazer, I found the noise from the rear. It is a broken shock mount. I was expecting much worse. After that, we went and had a barbeque at a neighbor's house. All in all, not a bad weekend.

Replaced the brake booster on my truck and replaced the water pump on my bro's 76 civic. (I hate all the little bolts - I always snap them off)
