My Engine Project

Well I found out that the supposedly good engine in my '69 basketcase isn't so good. With a limited budget I'm going to start building a new 350. I already started a thread on the Corvette site where I am an administraror so I'll just link to that instead of trying to keep up with several threads. Any comments or suggestions are more than welcome. I know that this sounds nuts but I have set a $500. budget for this build. Fortunately I have some pieces parts laying around so this just may be possible.

Please take a moment to check out the thread. I'll be interested in all help and comments.

The link is here------>X

Tom,
Looks like you have almost all the big $$$ parts already so a $500 respectable and drivable (not overbuilt) engine build shouldn't be a problem. I always hate it when they do those $5,000 builds on the Saturday TNN shows. "There are" those of us that actually can't afford to sink $5,000 into just an engine.
Keep us up to date on how everything goes.

That I'll do George. The next step is to get the block cleaned up. It is actually going to get into the 60s this weekend so I may be able to get it outside and do some scrubbing. Then I need to get that parts order sent off. It looks like I better think about digging out that 300 horse 350 I have stored. I may need those 64cc heads.

Re: My Engine Project

The link in the 1'st post of this old thread doesn't work anymore. A lot of the old content didn't survive one or more of the server updates over the years.
