65 tie rod problem
I'm finally getting around to doing the steering stuff on my 65. I put a 84 box on with a Captfab plate. While putting it all together I had a hard time getting the center link to fit. Found out I put the idler arm spacer on the inside. Woops. Got that fixed and the center link was hitting the cross member. Today I got that fixed. Next up-tie rods. I have CPP 2 inch spindles and found out the new outer tie rods I got wont work with them. I should have known since I had to get newer ball joints. I read in a thread that the outer tie rods should be used as inners and just get the newer outers. The problem I have is that the grease fitting sticks out the back of the tie rod end and hits the cross member. Anyone have a part number or a source to get a couple of tie rods that the fitting comes out the side of the tie rod end? I'll try to ad a pic of what I'm talking about but my phone doesn't like this site. lol

Re: 65 tie rod problem
I only have the picture of my 62 with 63 axle,
in my case the outer ball joint moved inwards and the 73-87 ball joint moved outwards, but I drive the car bolt circle, so the brake system is also affected. Perhaps you can see a difference to your steering system.
