Swapping from manifolds to headers help please

I have recently started working on my 85 Sierra C1500 and decided to go with headers instead of using the manifolds.

My question is what all can I remove now that I am not using the manifolds?

The manifolds had smog lines running into the front of them and I am not planning on reusing any of the smog crap that is there. I am not looking to gain anything but less clutter in engine bay.

I have a 350 tbi motor. If that matters on opinions.

I don't know if it matters or not but I will be running open headers not going on any long trips in this thing.

I have searched threads but no one really explains anything about the removal of this smog stuff.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

You won't be able to drive it around the block with open headers. They are that loud. EVeRY cop will be ticketing you for noise. As for the removal of smog stuff, those lines into the manifolds can go, take the smog pump off. And install your headers. It's pretty easy. You defiantly will want to install mufflers though.

Is that the plug that was running to bottom of manifold on driver side? If so could I just drill a hole in end of header and plug it in there?

You can buy an o2 bung off summit and drill and weld it in yes. Have at least two feet of pipe connected to the header though

Open headers on a tbi truck KILL gas mileage fine once you hook the exhaust back up tho.
