What I got done this weekend

Every weekend I say Im going to put my new parts on my truck, and so far every weekend that passed I ended up fishing or drinking beer or both combined lol! This Saturday I woke up at 8am and got started by installing my new seatbelts I got from Advanced Auto. After accomplishing that feat I moved on to my new door locks and adjusting my badly rusted mirrors. While I had my door panels off I drenched the window tracks with WD40 and made sure everything was operating smoothly. I found I am missing a piece for the passenger side door lock (it wasnt on the truck when I got it) the little arm that attaches to the inside of the lock cylinder that switches the lock mechanism anyone have one of these to send me I can pay shipping? I found some screws laying around the shed that fit the arm rests and I installed those while I was messing wit the door panels. I then proceeded to cut the rear bolts off the back bumper bracket (step bumper) so I could mount my new chrome rear bumper (non step), and license plate panel. While tightening the bolts on the new bumper I crimped the bumper a lil bit just like on the front one. I tried to be careful but its so easy to do that! Maybe its because its a $100 bumper and the quality isnt what I expected. I still have to rig up a light for the LP. After I got all that done I installed my chrome vent shades which was easier then I imagined. Over all it was a productive day for a guy who is a NOOB. Next weekend I plan on installing my new door & window seals , dome light and LP light. Just wanted to let you all know what went on in the shade this weekend, take it easy!

Indeed! Lots more to go, but I think the finished project will be much more worth while since all the restore will be my own. I've put a lot of time and not so much money yet into this truck ($1200 invested so far) and I'm sure it will be worth way more both sentimentally and financially when I am finished. Take it easy Pebbleboy

Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God!

Thanx man! A few more pieces, finish the body work and paint and she'll be a looker! Im hoping to find someone to finish the body work for less than $500 and prime it so things dont get worse with all the rain we're getting here in OH. I will keep my progress posted.
