what am i? (part id)

i'm finally putting my 67 c10 back together and ... uh.. can't seem to figure out where these two parts go... i really don't remember taking them off, but it was a multiperson whirlwind so that's not too surprising i suppose.. i looked page by page through an lmc mag and found nothing.. ??

Just scanned through the body and bumper section of my original factory service manuals (for 1969 though) and found nothing like that.

They go on the back of a coil spring truck. they bolt on with the U-bolts for the overloads to hit on.

Re: what am i? (part id)

the springs look like this and ride on the plates that you have when the box drops down with a big load.
