7K 73-87 tachs

I just stumbled across this site where they referb and convert them over to 7K. Im bet their pricey since they don't list a price but they sure do look good.

Looks like a great source. Theres a guy on ebay that sells complete replacement units that are nice too. Unfortunately they don't match all the different styles of gauge fonts.

Re: 7K 73-87 tachs

Another site with reproduction tach/ gauges. http://www.justdashes.com/ReplaceGauges.htm

And this place makes replacement circuit boards for corvettes and our trucks, when you order you have to put in the comment box to note that your ordering for a chevy truck. http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...ducts_id=26788

And this is a different site but it has all the same stuff as tachman.com http://www.instrumentsrus.com/gm.htm

The one I got with the fuel gauge in it was from www.gmsportsalvage.com

Edit... I can't get the right link on my phone but there is a thread on it. If no one links it I will tonight.

Yes the face is plastic instead of stamped metal like the factory ones but when installed you cant tell the difference.

I just found 2 complete clusters with the tach/fuel gauge at a local salvage yard today. I could grab them both if someone was willing to pay for the part and shipping? Pickin old trucks is a hobby of mine. They are 81-91 GMC 7000 clusters.

Re: 7K 73-87 tachs

homemade87, the tach looks great! One of these days I'm going to pick one of those up. For now I'm rocking the tach on the column.

The other day I pulled a tach/vac cluster out of a 70's C65. Got it for $20! Putting it up on ebay, no interest in making it work in my 86 C10.

Good score on the cluster. What you sell it for will go a long way on the tach unit. I agree not converting everything on the cluster.
