jewelers rubber bench block look like they would make good lowering blocks
I am going to lower my 72 1" in the rear and was looking for ideas to make my own and found these jewelers rubber bench blocks, does anyone know anything about them and how solid they are or if they will hold up?

Rubber is a bad idea for that. You'll insert flex and more twist into the axle assembly.

uh,, why would you re-invent the classic steel or aluminum blocks, and then possibly think a rubber product would be a viable choice to replace a metal ? one inch blocks can be had for less than $20 and you gotta have new U bolts any axle shop can bend the right bolts for ya probably 30 bucks gonna need the bolts anyways.
