Relocated tank? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am currently working on a frame-off rodsteration of a 1970 lwb fleetside. The plan is to relocate the tank to between the rear frame rails and have the filler in the bed. I would like to run true dual exhaust straight back but I have never seen it done with a frame mounted tank on a coil spring suspension truck. Anyone that has doen this pictures and an explaination would be appreciated.

Hmmm. I never considered this dilemma. I have my tank, it just begs to be installed. My duals go straight out the rear. I never considered that I may have to alter my exhaust. I'm interested to see how it worked out for others.

CSTM68, Did you have to cut any of the frame to get it to mount? Where did you get it and how many gallons is it?

I agree I would also like to know where the tank came from...That is the exact setup I am looking to go with, from the mounting style to the fill neck location...

i just had to remove the rear crosmember to install then put it bach in about an inch back. the tank is 18 gal tank , i got it from a local placxe in everett WA called dreamers rods and pickups nw www.pickupsnw.com
