Introduction and some pics

I been looking around this nice site you guys have built and Im very impressed so far. I will give some background on me and then throw in some truck pics...

Me: early 30's, married, kids and such. I have always been into the early
60's Impalas and have had 3 so far in life. I have done barn cars and nice garage one owners and inbetween. I Picked up a real nice 66 lwb farm truck over the summer and the bug bit me hard.......I sold it quickly due to its needing a complete frame off. I found a real nice start to what should be a good project: project: Papasmurf

Its an older resto that I have no info on, the usual 350/350 combo, however there is cruise, tilt, ps, cd player, heater and everything electrical works!! Its a lwb 2wd 68 fleetside. When I got it, it had a lund visor over the windshield, it has a rear sliding window and is leaf spring truck with all drum non power brakes. Most of my projects need 12 months of work before being road ready, this came ready to drive. It had homemade tube/pipe bumpers, large trailer type mirrors also. It is as clean underneath as it is topside. The real odd thing so far are the fiberglass inner fenders, they look great and save weight I guess. It also had 20's on it which are not my cup of tea, no offense. I am into the traditional hot rod look and this is my first truck to try that on. I swapped those out for some chrome smoothies and white walls.........heres the pics.... hope to make a little nest for myself on here.

Re: Introduction and some pics

from the Heart of Arkansas!

Two of my favorite things are early Impalas and these trucks. One of my worst memories is of the '64 Super Sport I parted-out. White body with black interior. All the trim was nice and the body was straight. Only got it for the engine, which didn't turn out to be what I thought it was, or told it was. Live and learn.

Keep us posted and we'll supply the feedback.

from North Texas. Nice looking truck you have there! Love the color!

Question for you. Is your master cylinder a single resevior model or dual reseviour? It may just be the pics or the fact that my monitor is like 10 years old but it seems that it is a single resevior unit.

Wow! Good catch there! Looks like a single to me as well. I would be swapping that out iffin' that was my ride.

Speaking of which, looks like a very clean and rust-free (from what I can tell) body.

Re: Introduction and some pics

Thanks for the comments! It is a single res master, I hope to do Cpp disk kit this winter on front with drums out back, power brakes at that. I just got the djm drop lower A arms and going with a flip kit for the rear. This winter I'm hoping to do the Cpp crossmember kit with trailing arms and bags. I'm no stranger to bagged rides, bagged my last impala myself. I hope to gain some insight from this site.

Lewis center is just north of Columbus Ohio.

Welcome! Nice grab on the 68, it's a very clean start! Can't wait to see that wheel gap disappear.

Re: Introduction and some pics

Welcome, Ohio neighbor--nice truck; my dad had a '67 with the same colors. Brings back memories...

I like your garage too--I have the same decor going!

This site is invaluable; I've gotten a lot of good information here which helps me make the right decisions about what to buy and how to do it.
